With the inception of my "Visits With a Victorian Lady" business in 1990, I endeavored to use my creative spirit to address my own hunger along with that of numerous readers and audience members struggling with lives out of balance. Fragmented and frazzled, we all longed for something akin to "the good old days" of yesteryear. Through the vehicle of drama, we could step back in time: a touch of romance with the past -- an hour's worth of entertainment and inspiration that in no way resembled my own life!

In fact, in endeavoring to meet my audiences' insatiable hunger for MORE, I ended up stuck myself! Like a marionette on a puppeteer's strings, I sang, wrote, and acted my heart away until I was only a shell of the woman I personally wanted to be. Thirty pounds overweight when the picture on the above right was taken, I was shocked when it came back from the photo lab. I looked like my grandmother! What was worse, I FELT like a grandmother! -- with aches and pains, but also emotionally flat due to the loss of a sense of life purpose. I needed a dramatic change to bring my life into line with my own core values.

Since that picture was taken, I've experienced a major transformation! Not only have I lost those thirty pounds (and 4 dress sizes!), I'm physically fit with renewed energy. I've rediscovered my life purpose and passion. I'm moving in fresh new dirrections. No more sighing, "Don't you wish you could have lived back in the genteel Victorian era?" I'm encouraging others to discover core values, slow the pace of life, and discover the excitement of living and making a difference TODAY!
